Year 6

Welcome back to Year 6 - Birch and Ash Class

Welcome to Year Six!

We hope you all had a lovely break and that you are ready and refreshed for a fun packed spring at primary school.

Our topic for this term is Evolution and we will be linking our learning to this topic as much as possible.

As part of English, we will be reading 'The Explorer' by Katherine Rundell.

PE will normally be on a Monday and Friday but we ask for for PE kit to be in school every day.  However there may be times when this needs to be adapted so please have the correct kit in school every day.

On Mondays from 11:45, Mrs Beckingham will teach Birch music, RE and art.

On Mondays from 11:45, Mrs Davis will teach Birch music, maths and PE. On Tuesday afternoons, Mrs Davis will teach RE and art.

Homework

English and Maths will be sent out on alternate weeks.  The English OLL will be continue to be completed mainly through the CGP books.  The maths will be based on previous SATs papers; it will be either problem solving questions or mental maths. Reading should be done at least five times a week for a merit. Please also remember to practise the spellings and times tables. The project this term is based around our evolution topic - please be as creative as you would like!
